Activities during the Pandemic

Sipping and Painting during the Pandemic

Are you trying to have fun during the Pandemic? I know our choices are limited, as we all try to stay safe.  Where can you go? How do we celebrate birthdays? Or, get out to have some fun? How can we think about celebrating as people worldwide are suffering? I’ll tell you how to celebrate! Try everything in your power to make holidays, milestones, and special occasions the best. Try to be as normal as possible during these stressful times.

I tried to make my life routine by celebrating my cousin’s birthday at a sip and paint studio. I was excited as this was my first experience at a sip and paint studio.   My cousin and I went to an art studio called Pinot’s Palette in Montclair, NJ. The reservations and the event are both done easily on-line. It cost $35.00 for each reservation. The art studio is a BYOB studio, drinking responsibly, of course, all guest attending is 21 and over. You can also bring snacks; we had chips and dip and sandwiches. If you have a large party, the art instructor makes sure everyone is seated together.

Make sure you arrive on time. The art instructor starts the class promptly, and you don’t want to miss any instructions. In the class, the instructor provides a canvas, paint, and paintbrushes. Each night has a different theme. This night was an elephant with a crown of beautiful flowers on the top of its head. The art instructor does a beautiful job telling you how to mix colors and use the brushes to get the right textures. If you follow the directions the instructor provides, you will have a lovely painting. If you drink too much, it may not look so cute. I would do this again; maybe with a group of friends, this could also be an ideal date. What a great experience.
